Our Off-Grid Inverters come with an impressive 5-year warranty, ensuring peace of mind for years to come. For those who choose the advanced Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries, rest assured with a robust 10-year warranty (with a 15 year warranty on the Moose Battery), a testament to their durability. Additionally, our ground mounts are backed by an industry-leading 25-year warranty, a testament to their long-lasting performance.

Important Battery Protection Notice

Maple Leaf LiFePO4 batteries are equipped with an internal Battery Management System (BMS) designed to protect the battery from unsafe operating conditions, including over-discharge. However, repeatedly discharging the battery below the recommended operating voltage or leaving the battery in a deeply discharged state may cause irreversible cell damage and significantly reduce battery performance and lifespan.

To protect the battery and maintain warranty coverage, the following settings are strongly recommended for 48V battery systems:

  • Low Voltage Alarm Setting: 49.0V
  • Low Voltage Cut-Off Setting: 48.0V

Batteries discharged below 46.0V may sustain permanent damage. The manufacturer reserves the right to void warranty coverage on any battery found to have been discharged below 46.0V.

To protect your investment and maintain warranty eligibility:

  • Do not intentionally discharge the battery below the recommended cut-off voltage.
  • Recharge the battery promptly after use.
  • Do not leave the battery in a deeply discharged state.
  • Use only compatible chargers and equipment designed for LiFePO4 batteries.
  • Ensure all inverters, chargers, and connected equipment are programmed with the correct low-voltage alarm and disconnect settings.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in permanent battery damage that is not considered a manufacturing defect and may not be covered under warranty.

Battery Maintenance & Care

LiFePO4 batteries require minimal maintenance; however, proper operation and routine inspection are essential to maximize performance, reliability, and service life.

State of Charge Management

  • Avoid allowing the battery voltage to remain below 48.0V for extended periods.
  • Batteries should never be intentionally discharged below 46.0V.
  • If the battery enters low-voltage protection, recharge immediately using an approved LiFePO4 charger.

Recommended System Settings

For optimal battery protection and longevity, the following settings are recommended for 48V systems:

  • Low Voltage Alarm: 49.0V
  • Low Voltage Cut-Off: 48.0V

Proper inverter, charger, and solar controller settings are the responsibility of the installer and system operator.

Storage Recommendations

If the battery will not be used for more than 30 days:

  • Store the battery at approximately 50%–70% state of charge.
  • Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
  • Recommended storage temperature: 5°C to 25°C (41°F to 77°F).
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, moisture, or freezing temperatures.
  • Recharge the battery every 3–6 months during storage to maintain proper voltage levels.

Terminal & Connection Inspection

Periodically inspect all battery terminals and cable connections for:

  • Tightness
  • Corrosion
  • Signs of overheating
  • Physical damage

Loose or corroded connections may cause voltage drop, reduced performance, or excessive heat buildup.

Charging Recommendations

  • Use only chargers specifically designed for LiFePO4 batteries.
  • Verify charger voltage settings match manufacturer specifications.
  • Do not use damaged or incompatible charging equipment.
  • Do not charge the battery outside the recommended temperature range.

Temperature Considerations

  • Avoid operating or storing the battery in extreme temperatures.
  • High temperatures can reduce battery lifespan.
  • Charging below recommended temperatures may damage battery cells.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the battery during operation and charging.

Periodic System Inspection

At regular intervals, verify:

  • Inverter low-voltage settings
  • Solar charge controller programming
  • Proper charger operation
  • Absence of parasitic loads that may slowly discharge the battery during storage

General Safety

  • Do not open, disassemble, or modify the battery.
  • Do not short-circuit battery terminals.
  • Keep away from sparks, open flames, and combustible materials.
  • Secure the battery properly during transportation and installation.

Following these maintenance recommendations will help ensure safe operation, maximum performance, and extended service life of the battery system.
